Adolescent Functional Constipation or IBS-C

6-17 years of age | Males and Females

To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an oral medication vs. placebo in the treatment of functional constipation or IBS-C.

Eligibility

• Must suffer from functional constipation (also called chronic idiopathic constipation), which is constipation of no known cause
• Have less than 3, but greater than 1 bowel movement per week (without the use of rescue medication)
• Have symptoms of straining and incomplete evacuation

Trial Duration

8 visits over ~20 weeks

Compensation

Participants are paid up to $400 for time and travel associated with completion of all study visits
